MATHEMATICS TEACHER

B.A. CUNY Queens College - Chemistry
Certified High School Mathematics Teacher

Appointed: 1988

Ms. Amols has been a part of the DePaul Catholic community for 30 years. She considers DePaul her second home. Ms. Amols loves teaching Mathematics, especially Geometry. She believes mathematics is one of the best subjects to exercise the brain and to teach students to think logically and sequentially. This very important skill can be used in any other subject and any career. Students will learn to justify their statements and give a coherent explanation of the solution to a problem in her classroom. Ms. Amols’ favorite question is “Why? Please explain.” This makes the classroom an interactive experience and challenges the students to always be thinking.

Before and after school, Ms. Amols can be found in her classroom providing additional academic assistance. She is also part of the STEPS Program as a math tutor after school twice a week. In her spare time, Ms. Amols loves to read, work on Sudoku and word puzzles, as well as spend time with her four grandsons.
